At Torheim Gard, at the far end of Hjelledalen in Stryn – where east meets west – we run an organic and regenerative farm shaped by the landscape we live in. Steep slopes, forest, pasture and arable land set the framework for the operation. We work holistically, with soil, plants and animals as part of the same cycle. Living soil, animal welfare and biodiversity are not goals in themselves, but prerequisites for the quality of the raw ingredients – and of the food we go on to make. On the farm we grow a wide selection of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers in an organic vegetable garden. We keep grass-fed sheep that use the infields, the outlying land and seter (summer mountain farm) pastures, and outdoor pigs that are an active part of the landscape and the use of resources. The orchard gives us apples for juice, cider and further processing, and the raw ingredients from the farm are processed into craft products. In the self-service farm shop you will find our own products from the farm, together with a small and carefully chosen selection from other local and organic producers. The selection varies with the season and availability, but the basis is always the same: raw ingredients with a clear origin, processed with craftsmanship and quality.
