Giving life to old gardens We are proud to be able to use resources in the local area that would otherwise have gone to waste, and in this way we give life to old gardens. From the local raw materials we make products following traditional recipes with pure flavours of fruit and berries. But later in the autumn we also make spiced products that give those good Christmas flavours. All the products are handmade and completely natural, without artificial additives. HISTORY The company was established in 2018 and has its origins at Poldgarden in Eidsdal in Sunnmøre. Anton Nydal was a committed and capable farmer at Poldgarden in Eidsdal in the 1920s and onwards towards the 70s. He was a very skilled farmer, and berry, fruit and vegetable production was the main source of income. After his time the farming gradually declined, and the orchard has not been tended for a generation. Many of the trees have died, but some still stand and bear a crop. The initiators of Stolte Anton AS, Per Ove Nydal and Margreta Veiberg, are both grandchildren of Anton Nydal. Gradually they developed the idea of turning the fruit in the old garden into a resource. It has also turned out that in the village of Eidsdal, the gateway to the World Heritage area, there are several old, unused gardens. They now provide the basis for several of the products - and that in itself is a great joy. Now Kirsti Indreeide has taken over the business and will carry on the tradition. Among other things, berries from our own garden at Nerigarden in Veiberg are used. Otherwise most of the raw materials come from other gardens in Eidsdal and Norddal as well as other villages in Fjord municipality. An important part of the philosophy is to make use of unused resources; plums and apples from trees that have not been harvested, redcurrants and raspberries from gardens that in part have not been tended.
