Storstova lies in the hamlet of Valldalen, five kilometres from the village centre by the Norddalsfjorden. The farm lies in a former klyngjetun (cluster farmyard) on a moraine terrace from the ice age. People have cultivated the land here for over a thousand years. We grow strawberries and potatoes, and have a colourful diversity of vegetables and herbs in the kitchen garden. In the summer of 2022 we made the first trial production of rørt jordbær (strawberries stirred with sugar) in our new production kitchen. Rørt jordbær is our absolute favourite, and we use only the very best strawberries for it. We freeze the rørt jordbær straight away – and can offer the fresh, good taste of summer all year round. When the new potatoes are ready and the strawberries ripen, we open the farm shop in the garage in the farmyard. Here you will find the delicacies that are in season. When autumn comes, we move the sale of potatoes, carrots and root vegetables to the cold rooms on the farm – so it is always possible to do some locally sourced shopping with us.
