At Store Nå in Hardanger lies farm 57/2. This is a family farm that stretches back to the 1600s. The first person to run this farm, Eirik, was given it by his father-in-law. 10 generations later, the odelsgut (heir under Norwegian allodial law) Eirik has started up a cidery on the farm. The knowledge of cider production builds on all the earlier generations, such as parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, who hold the know-how when it comes to looking after world-class fruit and apples. On this foundation Eirik has taken up old traditions and mixed in some new ones to make a cider that is unique in itself, but has the same quality as one can find in "Sider frå Hardanger". To put the focus on the traditions and the history of the farm, the cider has been called -- 57/2 -- quite simply the farm and holding number of the farm at home in Ullensvang in Hardanger. The company "Store Naa Siderkompani" reflects the place name Store Nå. Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and everyone else who helps to bring the product forward are all included in "kompani Naa", and so the last part of the company name was easy to choose.
