At Grønset, grey stone has been turned into gold - it has quite simply become farm glam. In old and venerable buildings, your hosts Helga and Mark welcome you personally: to feasts and barn weddings, blankets and hot cocoa, from the SommerCafé with farm pizza and stews, to sparkling parties with a locally produced aperitif or quite simply a liberating morning coffee before the day of meetings begins. Situated in the middle of the food regions of Nordmøre and Trøndelag, we source many of our ingredients from the region, and we put the flavours together with our own imagination and creativity. Here you can buy local products in the farm shop or experience the hostess letting loose behind the microphone. Do combine a visit to us with a trip to the climbing park at Valsøya, the Geitbåtmuseet at Enge or an alpaca walk at Oddan Alpakka or Opplev Auna. From Grønset you have a good starting point for brisk mountain walks, and we can recommend a food break at the old seter (summer mountain farm) by Opsalvatnet, or lighting the hearth in the restored Høybua by Skittenholsvatnet. Make yourself a fresh packed lunch after breakfast in the cowshed, and off you go. We have fantastic hiking destinations all around us, among them the tourist cabin Sollia, which is part of FjordRuta. Sollia lies just across the fjord from us. When the day is over you can sleep well in one of our six unique bedrooms. All the bedrooms have a double bed, and if more beds are needed we have a good collaboration with our tourism colleagues at Valsøya and Hotell Koselig, about 20 minutes from Grønset. We sort out the transport with the help of Hemne Minibuss. Welcome! Our values: Diversity, sustainability and warmth. Looking after the old that is sound and solid, and mixing it with the fine things from today's people and expressions. Until the second half of the 1700s, Grønset was a Captain's farm, and over the generations those who have run the farm have drawn inspiration and ideas from many countries around us. Eplefløyel, villsau (old Norwegian sheep breed) skins, second-hand goods and honey from Heim. Soaps and spices from Hitra. Plum jelly from Sunnmøre. Prize-winning cheese from Tingvoll. This and much, much more is what you will find if you drop by the farm shop. (Local food is only sold in the summer) The opening hours of the farm shop vary from season to season, so keep an eye on social media or get in touch before you drop by.
