About Volda Elektriske Mylne AS
90-year-old mill with rare equipment (Norwegian-made stone mills, plate dryer, roller mill) from the early 1900s. Back then there were over 500 such village mills, but today this is the last one left that still carries out commercial production of food flour from oats, barley, rye, wheat, spelt, emmer and peas, as well as fine flour from willow and chaga as dietary supplements. Received Olavsrosa and Årets råvare (Ingredient of the Year) from Land for oat flakes in 2008. Joined the international Èconomuseè network in 2017 (Handlaga). Sells the flour locally in its own shop (Sunkost Volda). Guided tours by appointment.
