Heggerud is an old sorenskrivergard (district judge's farm) and a former historic guesthouse with a historic garden. Heggerud is now a small, charming campsite The farm lies in the village of Harpefoss in Riksantikvaren's (the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage) selected cultural landscapes for Oppland. It is within walking distance of a grocery shop, Fron Badeland and an art exhibition and cafe at Harpefoss Hotell, as well as in the neighbourhood of other HANEN (Norwegian rural tourism association) members such as Sygard Grytting and Rudi Gard. There are exciting walking trails right from the farm. Among other things, one of the most spectacular sections of the pilgrim route and Harpefossjuvet lie right nearby. With a short drive you can get up into nearby mountain areas with fantastic opportunities for trips on foot, by bike and on skis. The high mountain areas of Rondane and Jotunheimen are also well within reach for day trips. Heggerud has organic raspberries, vegetables and flowers for sale in a self-service farm shop. We have pick your own raspberries in season, follow our Facebook page for times. We have started processing various berries and rhubarb into cordial and jam/jelly, the selection will vary as we develop new products. We also sell apple juice from old heritage varieties from our own apple orchard. which is sold in our farm shop. In the charming apple orchard we can offer various kinds of accommodation in log cabins and camping cabins. Guests can also camp in the apple orchard or by the market garden. The holiday house has 10 beds and the camping cabins have room for 2 - 4. In addition we have a seter (summer mountain farm) house with room for 16 people as well as 2 accompanying annexes with a total of 9 beds. Altogether we have 60 rental beds, but not everything is available for rent at the same time. We are members of "Bondens Bord" and hope to get going with various pop-up events serving our own and local produce in the summer of 2025
