Locally sourced - Rural - Exotic At the entrance to the Hardangerfjord lies the island of Huglo, and here you will find Myrvold gård. We run small-scale production of agricultural products on the island of Huglo in Sunnhordland. In the farm shop you can, among other things, taste and buy dairy products that are locally processed from milk from our old Norwegian cattle breeds. Our ice cream is very popular, and with fresh milk from Telemark, Døla and Western Fjord cattle and eggs from free-range hens it has a quality you will have to search long and hard to match. At the weekend there are always freshly baked temptations. We serve pizza inspired by Naples, with herbs, tomatoes, cured ham and several types of cheese produced on the farm. You can quench your thirst with drinks made from malt and hops or from red and white grapes. Before and after the meal you can wander around the farmyard and meet colourful exotic birds, most of which can talk, and if you are interested in tortoises, reptiles or hairy tarantulas, we have those too. It is possible to stay overnight in our glamping tents, which stand a little above the farmyard with a view of several neighbouring municipalities, or in a house on the farm where we have 3 rooms, one family room with 4 beds and 2 rooms with 2 beds in each room. For booking, send us an enquiry by e-mail, or give us a call. Unfortunately it is not permitted to bring your own animals. We serve breakfast to our guests, and if you want to explore the island we lend out bicycles. If you feel like it, you can join in with the animal care: cows and goats have to be milked, pigs and hens have to be fed, and it is not unusual for sheep and horses to have to be moved to new pastures. Cheese, sour cream, butter, lefse (soft Norwegian flatbread), ice cream, cordial, jam and jellies. Tea and spices, eggs, natural products, sheepskins, gifts such as visual art, ceramics, and much more can be found in the farm shop.
