The pigs on the farm are of the Hampshire breed, a breed with a lot of intramuscular fat, which gives juicy and flavourful meat. The cattle breed is Belted Galloway, a slow-growing breed with good marbling, which gives tender and flavourful meat. It is a type of meat that is not common in Norwegian shops. This is some of what you will find at our farm: Farm shop (Pork and beef products, Eggs, Coffee, Honey, BBQ, Products made of wood) Farm visits (Meeting our animals) Farm work (seasonal) Farmer for a day (aimed at children) Den grønne skolen (the green school) Inn På Tunet (Norwegian farm-based care services) We have a strong focus on animal welfare through welfare programmes. As part of this, our bull calves are castrated so that they can be out on pasture with the herd all the time. The cattle are fed only on grass, plus some spent mash from beer brewing. In addition to concentrate feed, the forest pigs are fed on unsold bread and vegetables. All the livestock can be seen and met on the farm. We want our pigs to live as naturally as possible. Here you can meet the pigs in their natural element outdoors. We also have several types of small animals that we bring along to Åpen gård (open farm day), Christmas markets and on visits to nurseries and similar. And we also receive visits here on the farm.
