Tinghuset is beautifully situated on Nordsand Gård. Only a stone wall separates the farm from the almost 760-year-old church site on the island. At Nordsand, farming has been carried out for several thousand years. Archaeological excavations have found traces of "advanced" farming already practised in the Bronze Age, over 2000 years ago. Finds of traces of farm buildings show that there was also a large farm here in the Viking Age, over 1000 years ago.
