The farm, which today is owned by the 8th generation since the 1700s, has received a lot of attention. As tradition dictates, mountain folk have always been welcome, old walking paths have been cleared and given new waymarking. The farm is cared for with love and diligence and appears very complete and authentic, and it often attracts admiration and curiosity. In 2019 Inderdalen gård received the Kulturlandskapsprisen Nordland, a prize awarded by Statsforvalteren (the County Governor). We received the prize for our commitment to preserving and conveying the history of the old mountain farm and the cultural landscape it is part of. ACCOMMODATION IN THE GUEST HOUSE We rent out an old house, "Gjestehuset". This house has recently been restored to its original condition, and considerable time and resources have been put into creating a period-appropriate look. Here you can enjoy modern comfort with electricity and running water (cold water). Toilet and shower in a separate service building. On the ground floor you will find a cosy but simple kitchenette with a hotplate and fridge; the living area also has a sofa and easy chairs for relaxing and resting. On the first floor there are 4 made-up beds, one very good double bed and two authentic and comfortable beds. The hallway on the first floor offers activities whether you enjoy doing jigsaws, reading or knitting. THE SERVICE BUILDING Whether you stay overnight at Inderdalen gård or you are simply a mountain walker who wants a shower/toilet visit, there is a service building here that is available to everyone who wishes to use it. The service building has two shower and toilet rooms, one of which has universal design. If you are an overnight guest at Inderdalen gård, you get to use your own bathroom in the service building. EXPERIENCES Historical walk Join a historical walk in the cultural landscape around Inderdalen gård. Learn how grain is milled in the old way using water power in the old stream mill. Kamkake baking At Inderdalen gård old traditions are kept alive. Kamkaka (a local baked flatbread) is a local baked good in Hemnes which is baked in an old wood-fired hearth. Join us and learn about kamkake baking. Historical "coffee gathering" in Gammelstua Meet the hosts on the farm and hear the story of the people who have lived on the farm. You are served a light meal and get a guided tour of Gammelstua from the early 1800s. The house, which also includes the living-room loft, holds many historical treasures. Walking or skiing Inderdalen also offers a fantastic area for hiking. From the farm you can follow waymarked trails to Gråfjellhytta and Oksfjellelv. The hosts can give you plenty of tips for trips so that you can explore the local area on your own. Events At Inderdalen Gård you can also hire premises for groups wanting catering, kamkake baking, historical presentations or a guided tour.
