In our farm shop you will meet one of us who works in the cheese dairy, and you can follow the cheesemaking through large windows into the cheese room. From there you also look into our treasure chamber - the cold room where many thousands of Kraftkar are maturing. We make cheese 5 days a week, so there is a good chance that you will catch a glimpse of how the cheese comes into being. A film running continuously in the farm shop also shows you in detail how our cheese is made. Besides our own cheeses, we also sell a range of other food and craft products from skilled small producers. We have plenty of seating both outdoors and indoors. Here you can buy a slice of cake or a Røros-is and a cup of coffee. By advance booking on tel 46164000/ordre@tingvollost.no we serve a cheese platter (NOK 250 per person), tastings (NOK 85 per person), and we can also offer a 30 min guided tour with an introduction to the farm and the cheese dairy (NOK 150 per person). Our cowshed is a loose housing cowshed built in 2008, with a new milking robot in May 2020. Through the windows in the office in the cowshed you can see both where the cows live and how the milking robot works. Outside the cowshed our cows graze around the clock in the summer half of the year. They all have names, and you can read a little about the personality of each one on one of our signs outside. Around the farmyard you will also find rabbits, horses and calves. Set up for families with children, with play equipment, a playhouse, seating and toilets. In 2019 we became an approved Handlaget, which is a collection of living craft businesses and experience centres. We have equipped the farm with signs and information, which are meant to give you knowledge about what we work with, in addition to offering guided tours by advance booking.
