About Ormbostad gard

We want to try to make the most of our animals, so additional products such as wool and hides from both sheep/lamb and cow/calf/bull are processed further. Our sheep have many colours, and the wool has so-called coloured fibres, which have no value for Norwegian wool buyers today. The wool is therefore sorted and transported for contract spinning at Selbu Spinneri in Trøndelag, which washes and spins the wool according to old tradition into the finished product: knitting yarn. In the little farm shop/workshop in the farmhouse we sell that very knitting yarn, but also whole hides and seat pads with prints, table runners for long tables made of cowhide and more, handmade soaps, meat from sheep and lamb (all year round) and cattle (to order in autumn). We also have access to venison to order. We are planning to bring in a more varied selection of products and plan in future to take in goods from other local producers in our area.
