About Rondane Gardsmat
Rondane Gardsmat is based at the farm Haugtun in Grimsbu in Folldal, where they process meat from their own gammelnorsk spælsau (old Norwegian short-tail sheep breed). Here they produce traditional local food such as pinnekjøtt (salted, dried lamb ribs), fenalår (cured leg of lamb), cured sausages and juniper-smoked leg of lamb, with raw materials from animals that graze in the forest and mountain areas around Folldal. The products are processed on the farm, and both the pinnekjøtt and the fenalår have been awarded the Spesialitet (Norwegian speciality food label) mark for outstanding Norwegian local food.
