About Bryn Gardsmeieri

Bryn Gardsmeieri is located in the hamlet of Flendalen, in the north of Trysil municipality. Here we make cheese from all the milk our goats give during the year. We make several kinds of white cheeses and brun geitost (brown goat's cheese). We raise kids (young goats), and the kids that are not going with the flock to the seter (summer mountain farm) stay out on the home pasture all summer and are slaughtered in September. The products we offer are raw and frozen shoulder and leg, cured leg, and pinnekjøtt (salted, dried ribs). In the farm shop at Bryn you can buy genuine geitost and kid meat, made from pure raw ingredients and solid food craftsmanship. The shop also sells frozen stomp (traditional soft flatbread) from a local baker, wooden products and other goods from producers in the area, as well as ice cream, fizzy drinks, hiking chocolate and coffee. If you live some distance away, we can also send cheese by post; orders can be made on the website www.brynost.no. The goats live at Rømonysetra in Bittermarka and graze on fresh mountain grass all summer. We also offer accommodation in a cosy cabin in our seter farmyard. There are four beds and everything you would need for your stay.
