About Prestholt Geitost
Prestholtseter is a traditional støl (summer mountain farm) at the foot of Hallingskarvet outside Geilo, 1242 metres above sea level. By the støl café lies Prestholt Geitost's own farm shop, where you can buy local food and products from the mountains. The selection includes geitost (brown goat's cheese) and white goat's cheese, kid (young goat) meat, cured sausage, kid burgers, goat's butter, goat's sour cream, mountain trout, honey, apple juice and raspberry cordial. The range varies, and the shop also has various cuts of kid and goat as well as skins. In the adjoining Prestholtseter kafé, traditional mountain food and homemade baked goods are served. Prestholtseter lies at the entrance to Hallingskarvet National Park and is a popular starting point for the walk up Prestholtstien.
