The shop is an educational and practical learning arena for pupils at Stend vidaregåande skule and is known for selling high-quality products. Well-matured Fanaost from Ostegården, which won the world cheese championship in 2017, is one example. At Christmas the greenhouses are full of poinsettias and Christmas begonias, while the shop can tempt you with pinnekjøt (salted, dried lamb ribs) from villsau (old Norwegian sheep breed) and other Christmas delicacies. In spring the field starts to sprout and the greenhouses are full of summer flowers, while the newborn lambs graze in the meadows. In autumn the market area overflows with newly harvested root vegetables and local seasonal Norwegian fruit. We are open every weekday from Monday to Saturday (opening hours vary with the season).
