About Smalahovetunet Voss
«Smalahove (traditional smoked sheep's head) has been eaten in Voss for as long as there have been people in Voss». In the past smalahove was everyday fare for most people, and it was that for Ivar L. Løne and his wife Kjellaug Løne too, when they singed smalahove for themselves. And gradually they singed them for family, friends and neighbours, and today we singe smalahove for the whole country. On the farm Løne, where the business is based, we have a farm shop with a good selection of handmade traditional food. We can also receive groups for parties, lunch, dinner, milestone birthdays or the like in a stabbur (traditional storehouse on stilts) from the 1700s. A newer building on the farm is an enclosed grindabygg (traditional post-framed building), where there is room for larger groups. We have a full licence. Do drop by the farm to shop in the farm shop, or you can reserve a place in advance in one of our premises for food service and a guided tour. The farm shop is open at any time all year round.
