Siloen is a cosy little farm shop right by the E 134, just west of Seljord. Siloen is only a half-hour drive from Bø and an hour and a half from Skien. And if you drive the E 134 over Haukelifjell, you drive right past. Come and see all the lovely things we have, while you relax a little and stretch your legs. After a pleasant chat in the sunny spot by the barn wall at Heggtveit, we said rather offhandedly: - Maybe we should have a little farm shop here with eggs and homemade things. And with that it was done. Ida and Jørund took over a farm in 2013 with cattle and sheep. They built a big new hen house, which is why we always have fresh farm eggs in Siloen. Bjørg was constantly taking orders for various homemade things, such as home decor items and a bit of handicraft like crochet and sewing. We cleared and prepared a small part of the barn, a silo and a stable, and that became Siloen Heggtveit gardsbutikk. We opened in October 2013, and the homemade things sold out quickly. Siloen became much bigger than we first thought and there was not enough time to produce goods. Even though Bjørg still believes she will get more "time to make things"... we shall see. That is why we are so glad to have found so many good suppliers. And we are especially glad when we find environmentally friendly goods, fair trade, Norwegian design and preferably organic goods. We want people to feel welcome and to enjoy themselves here, and we place emphasis on good quality goods. We are also happy to support initiatives where we can contribute, for example by selling goods for disadvantaged people or sending a little money where it is needed.
