About Vårsol gartneri
Delicious tomatoes -Straight from the greenhouse - Can it get any better? In 1969 Jan Helgøy started producing tomatoes, when he built a greenhouse of 1.5 decares with a boiler room. It was later expanded in several building stages in the 1970s. Even at that time Jåsund Gartneri, as it was then called, was one of Rogaland's largest tomato producers and a pioneering nursery. Today Vårsol Gartneri is run by Kjell Rune Helgøy. The nursery covers 12 decares including the packing house, and it produces 400 tonnes of large tomatoes and 30 tonnes of cherry tomatoes annually. We supply vine and round tomatoes to Coop and cherry tomatoes to Bunnpris. Vårsol got its name after Kjell Rune's sister Solvår, -their father Jan thought RuneKjell Gartneri did not have quite the same ring to it. WHAT DO WE PRODUCE?
