About Rygge Meieri
Rygge Meieri is a small, newly started dairy that carries the dairy's history forward in the old, tradition-rich premises by Rygge station. Rygge Meieri was originally established in 1879 and the dairy was in active operation until 1947. It was not until 2020 that a new dairy adventure began, when we moved into the venerable premises and revived the local dairy traditions. Rygge Meieri is the only local dairy in the Østfold region that produces local food from organic milk from our own farm. Here Norwegian speciality cheeses are made by hand and yoghurt is made using a traditional method. Next door to the cheese dairy we have a dairy shop, where you can buy all our products; it is open on Fridays and Saturdays.
