We offer organic Nansen potatoes, and in the market garden we grow seasonal vegetables. In the kitchen I make delicious potato salad, wholemeal rolls, and not least our own moist and long-keeping gardskake (farm cake). The gardskake contains only gluten-free ingredients, but we do not have a gluten-free kitchen. All the processed products (apart from the crispbreads) contain the farm's own potatoes, the ones that are sorted out and are not "good enough for sale". This is one step towards reducing food waste, perhaps not a big one, but every little helps. The processed products are made in limited quantities, so it pays to order if there is something you simply MUST have, and want it fresh. In the fridge and freezer you will usually find potato salad, wholemeal baked goods and gardskake. The farm shop can also offer organic eggs from the neighbouring farm, and local honey from the neighbour in Gransmarka. Trond, the potato farmer himself at Vedervang, has grown organic potatoes since the 1990s, and offers the tasty variety Nansen, which both tastes very good and can be used for most things (as potatoes often can). The Nansen variety is firm-cooking to medium floury, and is suited to much more than boiling! The organic Vedervang potatoes are much sought after among customers, both locally and regionally through sales at Rekoringer (local food distribution networks) in Gjøvik and in the Oslo area. We can also deliver in these areas by appointment, without going via the Rekoring. The vegetables are grown in a market garden where all the work is done by hand – real craftsmanship! We also sell home-sewn textiles and environmentally friendly kitchen utensils in wood. We at Vedervang are happy to deliver goods to your business too, whether it is a shop, café, sports lodge or similar.
