In our farmyard we have a farm shop in part of the main building, selling our own products as well as local food from other Valdres producers. Worth mentioning here are honey, cheese, flatbrød (crisp flatbread), eggs, cordial, jelly, rakfisk (fermented trout) and local beer. In our stabbur (traditional storehouses on stilts) we cure sausages and meat from the game. The cured sausages have to hang for curing in cold and heat, wind and calm. That way they get a long curing time and good preservation that suits our inland climate. We cut and process our game meat ourselves, and so we can taste each animal before cutting, so we can guarantee tender, good meat for the customer. In summer we fish in Strandefjorden, and here it is mostly whitefish. We fillet this, so it is pan-ready for you as a customer. We also take in trout from other fishermen, and these we sell whole. In autumn we save the roe for sugar-salting. We make liver pâté from the liver of young animals, both elk and red deer. We cook and sell stock from bones, or sell them cut up for the customer's own stock-making. We slow-roast the red deer necks and pick the meat off for "pulled hjort". It is a good use of this meat and makes a very tasty product. Many people like to buy minced meat directly, and others prefer ready-made patties and sausages. We fry the patties ourselves from elk and red deer, and always offer lactose-free elk patties. We are also just starting out with sausage production, and these are genuine handcrafted sausages!
