About Hommelstad spekeri
For over 300 years, Hommelstad gård has housed pigs. Today the farm supplies edelgris (premium quality pork) to Gilde, as well as exclusive free-range pigs for everyday treats, gourmet occasions and celebrations. The free-range pigs are of the Norwegian noroc breed. They are fed on specially developed feed containing nuts, which they get to take with them on their final journey to the local abattoir. The small abattoir takes care of each individual pig and ensures that they get a dignified end. The sum of everything we do to make the pigs happy is, we believe, the most important reason for unusually juicy and marbled meat.
