Grønnerud Gård has red deer farming as its main business, and here you can come and experience red deer at close quarters. The deer are kept in enclosures and have large areas to move around in all year round. Through the four seasons they have access to roughage in the form of green pastures or our own hay. In addition, birch and spruce branches are brought in as an extra treat. We have over 30 animals as our core stock, and the number of deer increases every year. Eidskog Vilt is an EFTA-approved abattoir, and we have control of the produce from the forest directly to your table. We of course do not use any artificial additives, and you get quality food from healthy animals that are inspected by Mattilsynet (the Norwegian Food Safety Authority) throughout the production. All slaughtering and production takes place under strict hygiene requirements, and we have our own well-functioning internal control and HACCP system for safe food. This is your guarantee of safety from Eidskog Vilt and high quality in the end products. The game we slaughter and butcher is red deer from Grønnerud Gård and other deer farmers, game from the wildlife committee and the district's teams that deal with game injured or killed in traffic. In addition, we occasionally buy in elk, red deer, roe deer and wild boar from local hunters. All the game we receive is processed into roasts, fillets, steaks, mince and other products. All from the surrounding district and the deep forests where we are located.
