If you make the trip to us, you will not be disappointed. In our farm shop you will find, among other things, our fantastic sun-ripened tomatoes, grown the old-fashioned way, in a rich selection of varieties and colours. Later in the summer our colourful and sweet peppers arrive too. Here you can find most of what the Norwegian vegetable summer has to offer in the way of brassicas, salads, beans, root vegetables and fruit. Grøntbua is run today by Ragne Helene Justad Ravnsborg, who grew up at Gilhus Gård. The farm itself is run by Ragne Helene together with her husband, Knut Andreas Malmberg, but Grøntbua and the market garden are now managed by Ragne Helene. Here she gets good help from Birgitte, and extra help is also hired in from outside to run the shop in season. It started as a small local farm shop, but since it opened in 2004 it has only grown bigger and bigger. The girls in the shop use the time when the shop is closed to pick mushrooms, harvest wild garlic, pick berries and make small delicacies that you can buy to take with you when you drop by, whether it is chilli jam, wild garlic butter or honeyberry jam. The selection is large and varied, and depends on the season. We want to have as little waste as possible of our fresh produce and are therefore constantly looking for new ways to use the goods. In 2023, for example, we had a great deal of green chilli and peppers left over. This became our new Hot Chili Gele, which is now sold in Grøntbua.
