Welcome to the beautiful fjord village of Hyggen and Hyggen gård in Asker municipality, about 40 km south of Oslo. Here Merete Hyggen, the 6th generation, carries on the farm's fruit production together with her family. On the farm we have over 20,000 apple trees, spread across the apple varieties Aroma, Summerred, Rød-Gravenstein, Discovery and Asfari. The apple orchard lies beautifully on a south-facing slope down towards the Drammensfjord. Extra sun and warmth from the fjord, rich soil and plentiful access to water give a climate that is perfectly suited to apple growing On the farm we have finally had a new and lovely farm shop built. The farm shop is self-service and open every day all year round (as long as there are people on the farm - and there mostly are). Here you can buy fantastic apples in season, cold drinks and of course our four varieties of premium apple juice all year round (Aroma, Gravenstein, Summerred, Discovery). The apple juices differ in taste but have in common that they are freshly pressed, premium apple juice - straight from the apple with no detours. If the sun is out and the weather is fine, do bring along the picnic basket, some cold apple juice from the farm shop, swimwear and spend a few hours down on the beach or the smooth coastal rocks just below the farm.
