Edvard Munch's summer house lies down by the fjord and is this season's big news, newly restored. Here you can experience the place he bought in 1910, and where, among other things, many of his monumental works came into being. A dedicated walking trail shows the way to the richly coloured motifs. Every summer our underground picture gallery shows exhibitions based on our own art collection and on loans from other collections. Our world of pictures is closely connected with Edvard Munch, and many of our well-known artists from that period. Here they stayed during the summer, and here we show their pictures in all their splendour. Havlystparken is in a class of its own. No other parks in Norway are as diverse and inspiring. All the different plants, the small surprises and the visual abundance characterise the whole grounds. Our outstanding gardeners make sure that every season is a journey worth taking in itself. You will not believe it until you see it. Since 1986 we have practised organic farming here at Ramme. On the visitor farm you can meet and take part in feeding many of our strongest personalities; the woolly pigs, the rabbits, sheep and goats, as well as some exotic birds. In the greenhouses you can see how we do things, and if you ask a gardener on your way, you will certainly get good advice on how to succeed at home in your garden. The cultural programme at Ramme ranges from chamber music with the country's foremost performers, via outdoor theatre with internationally renowned ensembles, to guided tours and cultivation inspiration. All the senses are to be tickled through a glance at the near and distant past, as well as a little taste of the future. Our eateries offer local, locally sourced and organic food and drink. Here you will find the whole range from good baked goods, via healthy soups to elaborate dishes of the very finest class. All the food is Debio (Norwegian organic certification body) certified, the very gold standard for organic production. The ingredients are preferably grown on the farm or sourced from the local area. Many of the products can also be found in our well-stocked farm shop, together with lovely gifts and everything for the garden. The 42 rooms in our own fjord hotel are inspired by Edvard Munch and are top class. The two buildings recall architecture from the 1780s and the 1880s respectively, but with every conceivable facility. So whether you are holding a conference or a wedding, you could not find a finer setting for the experience.
