About Skåre Gård
Here we run an organic farm that values the interplay between nature, the animals and the people. The farm has been in Nils's family since the beginning of the 1700s. The house we live in was rebuilt after a fire and dates from 1886. When he took over the farm in 2003, there had been no farming for several decades. We are a family of four living on the farm. Nils and Kristin and the children Liam and Linus. We started off modestly with goats, sheep, pigs and hens before we got our first Scottish Highland cattle in 2015. The idea behind it was to clear the woodland and stop it becoming overgrown. When we saw how beautifully the cultural landscape came back the way it once was, that was the start of what we do today.
