Here award-winning cheese and several varieties of ice cream are made from the farm's fresh cow's milk. The selection of farm-made ice cream varies with the seasons, and the availability of raw ingredients is often a source of inspiration. In the farm shop there is a wide selection and tasty gift packs. In summer you can enjoy our farm-made ice cream and a cup of coffee in a pleasant farmyard! Gangstad Gårdsysteri was established in 1998 as the first farm cheese dairy in Norway to be authorised to make cheese from its own cow's milk. About 12 different cheeses and 15 varieties of ice cream are made here. This has created jobs on the farm, and the processing side now has 12 full-time equivalents. The cheeses have won a number of prizes; among other things, Nidelven Blå was named the world's best cheese in competition with 4501 other cheeses at the World Cheese Awards in the 23/24 season. Gangstad supplies cheese to shops and restaurants all over the country, but also has many visitors in its own farm shop in summer. The cheese dairy is part of Den Gyldne Omvei, and in Inderøy municipality you can visit 20 different businesses along a beautiful stretch of road! See www.dgo.no for further descriptions. Den Gyldne Omvei has been voted Trøndelag's most pleasant destination, and has also been awarded Den nasjonale bygdeutviklingsprisen (the national rural development prize). The cheese dairy and the farm shop are set in the middle of a traditional farmyard, with a typical Trøndelag building style. It is lovely to sit here in the summertime, and some of the buildings are also open to visitors. Do drop in!
