The only thing that is big here on the farm is our ambition. With the unique milk from Jersey cows we can make top-quality dairy products. Filled into small tubs and milk bottles, of course. We rate cow comfort highly and keep the cows in loose housing with water mattresses in the cubicles. A milking robot takes care of the milking. Jerseymeieriet is also the only dairy in the country with milk that carries the Dyrevernmerket (Norwegian animal welfare label). Through our network in Europeisk Jersey Forum we came into contact with farmers in Germany who invited us on a study trip to their farm dairy at home in Germany. There we saw that processing the energy-rich milk of Jersey cows gives completely different products from those of the other cattle breeds. Products made from pure Jersey milk are at present not available in this country. We are committing to small-scale production of dairy products from our own cows. We want to offer simple, good craft products of high quality. For us, healthy animals, good animal welfare and respect for the animals go without saying.
