Bakkevig Gard lies idyllically at the entrance on the east side of Hervikfjorden in Tysvær municipality in Nord-Rogaland. Here the resources of the farm have been used through all the generations, both through agriculture and fishing, and in more recent times cabin rental has become an important part of the livelihood. The cabins are perfect for families with children and couples. They are nicely situated facing south, with a view over the fjord. There are good conditions for trips on the sea (rental of boat and sit-on-top kayak) and on land right in the local area. In the summer we primarily want to rent out whole weeks, but do get in touch if you have other wishes. The district here also offers many enjoyable activities for both young and old, such as "Høyt og lavt Nedstrand klatrepark" (climbing park), Tysværtunet swimming facility in Aksdal and Vikinggården on Karmøy. We run a farm with Old Norwegian sheep (villsau, an old Norwegian sheep breed) and sell various products from these, such as lamb, pinnekjøtt (salted, dried lamb ribs) and fenalår (cured leg of lamb). In addition we grow strawberries, some potatoes and vegetables. On the farm we also have cabins to rent.
