At Tveter Gård in Våler in Østfold, oats have been grown for many hundreds of years, probably back to the Viking Age. This is home to the Anstensrud family, careful and skilled farmers who like being able to tell you exactly where a product comes from and how it is made. We are not very fond of the fact that most agricultural products in Norway are not labelled with their origin, and that many of the grain products sold in Norway are imported from countries and growing conditions we know nothing about. Nor are we enthusiastic about the use of pesticides in food production, and we grow our ancient grain 100% without them. The farm shop will also be overflowing with unique quality products from other skilled local food producers; such as organic apple juice, local honey, farm-made ice cream and much more. There is also a lot going on in our café - and we regularly have events that are open to the public, whether art exhibitions, various courses (e.g. porridge making, vegetarian courses etc.) or other happenings.
