About Romeriksmat

Romeriksmat began as a frustration over how rarely you could get hold of real local food – and became a community of food producers who together run a shop and café at Sundbytunet in Jessheim. Good ingredients existed – but they were hard to find. Bondens marked (farmers' market), farm shops and the REKO-ringen (local food distribution network) gave brief glimpses, but not a permanent place to buy locally sourced food when you actually needed it. Out of a local food network in Romerike grew a simple idea: gather the producers under one roof. In 2025 the doors opened at Sundbytunet – a shop and café owned and run by the farmers themselves.
